Get Involved > Causes We Support
As a church community we like to give our support to several charities and worthy causes each year.
Each year we join with the other churches in the area to collect on behalf of Christian Aid during “Christian Aid Week” in May. This charity works to eradicate poverty. Check out their website
We are also always glad to accept offers of help with the annual house to house collection for Christian Aid within our parish, each May. Contact the Rector or Jeni McAughey jmmcaughey@gmail.com if you would like to give a hand with the collection.
CMSI is a Christian mission organisation that exists to help God’s people engage in God’s mission.
As an organisation whose roots and identity are strongly embedded in the Anglican Church, CMSI seeks to uphold and champion the Five Marks of Mission of the Anglican Communion:
• To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
• To teach, baptise and nurture new believers
• To respond to human need by loving service
• To transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and pursue peace and reconciliation
• To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, and sustain and renew the life of the earth
We are proud to be a church partner of Jubilee Farm, based in Glynn, Co. Antrim.
Jubilee Farm was set up in 2017 with the mission to practice and promote care farming, community-supported agriculture (CSA), and conservation education and engagement, in a manner which inspires change within local churches and communities to care for creation.
The aim of Jubilee Farm’s Church Partnership pilot programme is to give churches the opportunity to establish and deepen their capacity to care for creation, both locally and globally. St Patrick’s and St John’s were the first church to sign up to this Church Partnership Programme .
