This is perhaps one of the most significant and meaningful ways in which you can support the work of God financially.
What do you value most in life? Your family, friends, faith, good health?
When we have such things, we are truly blessed and grateful to God. However, when our time on this earth is over how will you be remembered? Maybe as a wonderful parent or grandparent, dear friend, a caring person, or for being generous in the giving of your time and talents?
These are just some of the positive ways we may be remembered, but there’s more. There is another way you could be remembered which would not only benefit your family and friends, but future generations who look to our Church of Saint Patrick’s and Saint John’s as their spiritual home.
By leaving a gift in your Will to Saint Patrick’s & Saint John’s United Parish of Whitehead & Islandmagee, you could make a most valuable and lasting contribution to support God’s mission and ministry in this community. Such a gift is an expression of your gratitude and thanksgiving towards God and can help keep our local church alive for generations to come, as well as helping to transform its future.
In the normal way of things and because we all have monthly financial commitments, we can’t always do as much financially as we’d like – to help other people and the church. A gift left in your Will, is therefore a great way to give more than you might ever have been able to give in your lifetime, providing encouragement, help and support for our Christian work and community long into the future, as well as serving as a lasting reminder of your loving commitment and involvement in our church, never to be forgotten.
So, once you have made provision in your Will for your family and loved ones, please have a think about how you might also make a lasting gift to God, by leaving a legacy in your Will to His church.
Legacies have the power to make a huge difference to the life of the church, enabling us to do great things that might otherwise have been impossible and unthinkable due to lack of resources.
